The Gospel Enters Stafford Creek
April 29, 2025
On April 29, 2025, I stepped foot into Stafford Creek Correctional Center for the first time—not as a visitor, but as a messenger of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I had been invited to speak to a group of inmates about immigration struggles. But as I prepared to share my story, the Holy Spirit stirred in me a deeper purpose. This wasn't just about legal systems or policy—this was about souls. About eternity.
I shared my own immigration journey, the battles I’ve faced, and how God has delivered me. Then I shifted. I lifted the name of Jesus.
I told them that “all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment” (Isaiah 64:6) and that true transformation only happens through the blood of Jesus. That message wasn’t filtered. It wasn’t watered down. It was real. It was raw. And it was received.
Some of the men were visibly moved. One in particular—deeply rooted in Catholicism—began to weep as I prayed with him. Others were stirred in ways I can only describe as spiritual warfare. I saw it in their eyes. The gospel shook something loose.
I walked out of that prison with a clear conviction:
This is where Street Light Gospel begins.
This wasn’t just a visit. It was an assignment. A divine appointment. A launching point into a new territory of ministry where the light of Christ will pierce the darkest corners of confinement.
The gospel is entering the prison system—and it’s not coming in quietly.
“For which I I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the word of God is not imprisoned.” (2 Timothy 2:9)
